How my acupressure journey began
I had learned about the Bladder Meridian and great releases from the horses with just a light pressure along this meridian, although I did not have the awareness as to the energetic component to these points until I attended the Tallgrass Equine hands-on seminars. These seminars aided me in understanding various points on the meridians which influence and aid in restoring balance in the body.
As I pursued my Acupressure certification, and expanded into the Instruction aspects, I learned I could support myself with some of the same points. I gained a lot of self-awareness through this program and found I was able to support my horses and cats on a more consistent basis. The Acupressure and energetic awareness integrate well into and with other modalities for a deeper understand of the session impact. My horse experience began as a CHA certified horse camp in Minnesota, earning my First Class Instructor certification. I continued with Equine Vocational classes in high school, volunteering for a hippo therapy program, show groom, and a volunteer coordinator at an Equine / Hooved Animal rescue in IL for many years. I have been a guardian to 3 horses in the past 25 years. I continue to broaden my awareness by attending various clinics and expos across the country. After experiencing a back injury from a riding accident, I chose to use cranial sacral treatments to assist with my recovery. This injury exposed me to more alternative modalities, including Reiki and Acupressure. . |
